Beyonce If I was a boy video

The video begins with Beyonce and her partner standing up in front
of a white wall and it a medium closeup. Beyonce is wearing white and
the guys wearing black which could represent who is the bad one in the
video. They're also speaking diagetically and saying words which are all
related to a relationship such as; honesty, commitment, you, me and us.
This gives us an insight of what the music video is about.
Mise en scene changes to a white room, then theres an establishing shot
of Beyonce walking behind the guy walking down the stairs, this could
represent power as Beyonce is looking down on him and as shes higher
up than he is and then she steps down to his level which could represent
that they're on different levels of the relationship and they could have different
ideas of how to treat each other. Again the mise en scene changes to a
kitchen, Beyonce approaches the man as he turns around he has breakfast
prepared for her, then he sits down expecting Beyonce will sit down with him
but she takes a bite from some food and walks away comes back with her hat
on and walks away. Whilst this happens Beyonce sings the lyrics of '' put on what
i wanted and go'' this could represent no self respect as she doesn't care what shes
wearing which is ironic as shes a women, and just walking away without care, this
relates to the video as she is walking away without showing respect to the guy by
saying thank you as she just leaves.
The next scene is of Beyonce walking down the stairs towards the police car, this relates
to the whole meaning of the video as the job of being in the police force could come across
as a male job, which also relates to how she was disrespectful before to the guy at breakfast.
As she gets in the car she seems unhappy but as she looks at the police man she becomes all
happy and all her problems seem to fade away, she next shot portrays them both laughing
together and getting along well. On the other hand the mise en scene changes to Beyonces
partner and how his day is going at work, and again theres the opposite sex with him and she
is flirting with him but he doesn't seem interested as he is looking for ring on the Internet for
Beyonce, this shows the contrast of the characters in this video as one seems loyal and the
other seems as thought they aren't committed.
Additionally, the mise en scene changes again to a basement type room where the police do
their target training, we can see Beyonce and the police man shooting at the targets Beyonce
aims at hit the area of the heart on the target, this represents what her aims are in her relationship
as she is aiming to hurt him. The police man isn't shooting for the heart, he is shooting aimlessly,
this could represent that he doesn't know the situation between Beyonce and her partner,
then Beyonce helps him to aim correctly and then it shoots the target in the heart.
The next part is Beyonce getting changed at work, and then going out for a drink so obviously
she hasn't been home to see her partner too see how his is or how his day has gone she just
disrespectfully went out without informing him. Where as her partner had been asked to go
out for a drink but he rejected the offer, then whilst at the pub he calls her and she egnors him
and carries on with her night out, whilst hes sitting at home alone waiting to hear off her. This
portrays a lack of respect in the relationship and maybe the reason why it isn't working out.
Through out this scene, the guy is wearing black and Beyonce is wearing white this is ironic as
maybe it should be the other way around as Beyonce is doing bad to her partner so she should
be wearing the darker colour.
Later on in the video we see Beyonce at work again, she is arresting a criminal and fighting with
him to keep him still this is again a manly image, whilst she is doing this the police man is checking
her out, this is a stereotype kind of a man. The next scene cuts to Beyonce and lover in car driving,
he hands her a box, which makes us suspect ring, but he bought her earrings, this could portray that
he doesn't feel ready or something isn't quit right for him to propose to her yet so he still buys her
something to show her he loves her but doesn't buy her the ring.
They arrive at their destination which is a club, partner sees Beyonce dancing with police man and
hes sad and disappointed, Beyonce sees him looking so she walks away and try to soften partner up
but it doesn't work, and the lyrics of this part is '' its a little to late for you to come back'' this shows
how he is feeling along with the close up of his face which portrays his emotions too.
The scene cuts back at their house, the costumes have swapped around and there is no sound until
Beyonce and partner begin to speak, this is a diagetic sound. Then the camera shot is a close up
of his face to portray how angry he is at her, then she replies cocky. The the whole story switches
around so it was the partner which was the one doing bad and Beyonce was the innocent one
so the whole video starts again but the right way around this time which makes the song make
sense now and then the last scene is of Beyonce face a close up of her singing shes standing
in front of the white wall again which portrays innocence again and strength of what she has
been putting up with of her boyfriend cheating and she sings ''your just a boy'' which basically
means he isn't worth it.

Pink Sobar video

Begins with a non-digetic sound of church bells, this gives the audience a depressing feel as the bells sound
sad and as though there droning on, which could relate to the story line of the music video as the days could
drone on which is why she drinks alcohol which maybe helps her to get through the day.
The scenery looks cold and uncomfortable with stone figures in a few shots, establishing shots are used, also close
ups and medium close ups this shows us how still they are, how ugly they look and maybe how unrealistic they are
of people, which could relate to Pink and how she acts in the video, the weather could portray how shes feeling inside
how shes uncomfortable with herself, how cold hearted shes being. The stone figures don't look like a human
normally does which could relate to how she is when she gets drunk she becomes ugly from how she acts, shes not herself.
Then the scenery changes to her bedroom, she lying on her bed which could portray comfort or maybe boredom
which is opposite to the first mise en scene which was used, this could portray her personality and how the alcohol
affects her. A telly vision screen appears all fuzzy, this could portray confusion about why she drinks or about her feelings.
There is also a video of herself shaking her head which could show us she is frustrated and trapped inside the screen or
maybe isolated with her addiction of alcohol.
Her lyrics also show us that shes understand how she acts when shes drunk but she feels nothing can be done,
''Being the girl that laughs the loudest'' she knows how shes making herself look, theres a clip of Pink laughing
which relates to the lyrics. Also her costumes throughout the video could represent the good and bad as sometimes
its white and sometimes its black both of these colours represent good and bad, she wears the white when shes sober
and black when shes drunk.
Additionally, on the video shes walking through the house alone and all of her friends are sitting on the chairs laughing,
this could represent that she feels that shes alone and she doesn't feel her friends can help her out. Which relates to the
lyrics as she says '' I'm the only one who wont be home'' which portrays shes alone, she needs other people to help her as
she isn't responsible of herself she cant look after herself, she doesn't feel as though her friends are there so she has become
dependent on the alcohol.
Further on in the video she sees somebody being sick in the bathroom, so she goes in to see if they are okay, when the person
being sick looks at her, she realises its herself throwing up so she walks away, this could show maybe a split personality
as part of her is dependent on alcohol but it seems another part of her is trying to become responsible. As she walks away
this portrays disappointment.
Furthermore in the video, she sings ''I'm safe up high nothing can touch me'' this is relevant to the video as shes drinking
and she alcohol makes her feel invincible and untouchable, when she isn't. A little while later after she sings these lyrics
the mise en scene changes to a white room, white portrays innocence which could appear to be ironic as she isn't innocent
shes causing herself to be like this, also as she is in a room with no door this could show isolation as though shes stuck in
the position she is in, she cant help herself from drinking but she wants to stop and get out of the situation. Also whilst in
the room theres a close up of her scratching the wall, this could portray frustration of being isolated in this alcohol addiction.

across as a surprise as one minute shes in a wood then next shes on a bed wearing little, suddenly Pink climbs on top of
herself, which is confusing, this could portray the side effects of the alcohol and how it is playing with her mind. It seems
that Pink is making love to herself as nobody else is there, she feels no comfort from another person, no support, no help.
This could be why she is drinking her loneliness away as the alcohol is her only friend.

Avril Lavigne poster
Same font again just bigger this time as its on a poster,
same colour too which relates back to the album cover.
The picture is also the same colours and of her wearing the same cloths, but this time shes sitting down and we have a different camera angle of her.
Her hair and make-up is still the same as it was on her album cover, which also ties them together. The difference is she had the red highlighted on her arms on her jacket on the album cover but on the poster they are discoloured, this might just be because she wants the title of the album to stand out more as its the only thing red.

Rihanna Umbrella single
This picture represents her cover well as the title of her cover is Umbrella and shes holding an umbrella on her picture. Like Beyonces cover shes lookin glamorous with her hair and mack up although the clothing is plain she still has alot of flesh on show.
Shes standing by a pool, and theres lots of water around her i think this is to inspire the umbrella into the photograph otherwise the umrella may lok random.
The colours arn't bright they are pretty dull and bouring but the dark background makes the water stand out more.
The title stand out as its white and the background is dark, her name is larger then the other text and in red to make it stand out more so like Beyonce shes trying to be centre of attnetion.

Beyonce has a different style to Pink
as she goes for the more femanine,
sexy look when shes been photographed for example the pose she strikes is more sexy and portrays her body in a more attractive way, she also looks glamorous her hair is curled well, sparkle earings, mack up well done.
Beyonce is wearing a small crystal top which portrays alot of flesh.
The title of her album isn't in a large font isn't noticable therefore Beyonces aim is to be centre of attention. Her name is highlighted which again draw more attention to her.
I think she directs her audience well for this album cover as obviously she is a female singer which intrests women and also make them look at her as an idol to sing and look how she does. On the other hand men could enjoy her music and be attracted to her also there is a blue background which makes this shot a little maculin.
Pink funhouse poster
This is Pinks Funhouse poster, as you can see in comparison to the picture below the same coloured background is used pink and gold, again bright colours not depressing or dull.
Pink is now wearing black which is the opposite to what she is wearing on her album cover there is more black used within the background and she is wearing black mackup on her eyes which makes it seem less child like, she also has no underwear on which also portrays shes trying to be more adult like on this poster.
On her album cover shes not wearing any shoes and shes riding a rocking horse on her poster she is wearing long black high heeled boots which again shows shes more women like.
On her album cover she has many tatoos on show whereas on her poster she only has a few on show on the back of her legs which also announces the fact she isn't wearing underwear.
The title of her album Funhouse isn't as visible on her poster as it is on her album cover, this might be because all the attention is supposed to be on Pink herself as she is the centre of the poster and her name stands out more than the title of her album does.

Fun House Album
On this album cover the main element is Pink, shes sitting on a childs rockin horse which could represent fun as children find a rocking horse or a carousel at a fun fair enjoyable to play on. Although Pink is on a childs toy I don't think this image looks too child like as she has alot of skin on show and many tatoos. Her facial expression looks asthought shes having a good time, she looks wild and excited which could compliment her music style.
There arn't any dull or dark colours which makes us think possitive about her album, also the lighting on her face also makes it seem happy and could make the customer attracted to this album cover as its unusual but steriotype for her music.
The title isn't bold or stands out, I think this has being done so we concentrate on the excitement and fun, which realates to the album title, 'Fun house'.
